Link a shipper or carrier to an existing customer or vendor record, or create a record from Mission. This keeps the partner number available on the Orbit partner when you work with the connected accounting integration.
Open a shipper or carrier in Mission. Select the action to link the accounting partner. If the partner has no linked number, the dialog lets you search for an existing record or switch to the create view.
In the create view, review the partner name, address, VAT ID, email and phone number. Mission shows fields that are missing or invalid and disables creation until the required information is available. Confirm to create the record. If the VAT ID matches one existing record, Mission links that record instead. If it matches more than one record, choose the correct record manually.
When a carrier is assigned to a tour, Orbit checks whether it already has a vendor number. If not, Orbit looks for an existing vendor with the same VAT ID and links it when there is one match. Otherwise, Orbit creates a vendor. A carrier without the required information is skipped, and the carrier's status log records the result or an error.
The automatic vendor check runs when a tour is assigned or created with a carrier. During invoice submission, Orbit also resolves an unlinked customer: one VAT match is linked, no match creates a customer, and multiple matches stop submission so you can choose the correct record.
During invoice submission, Orbit links a customer when exactly one record matches the shipper's VAT ID, or creates one when none match. If multiple records match, submission stops so you can link the correct customer from the shipper in Mission.
When one record matches, Orbit links it to the shipper or carrier instead of creating another record.
